I found this shell on a local beach and brought it home.
Every time I look at it, I’m reminded of Pilot from Farscape. (I know it’s a leap. My mind makes lots of leaps…not all of them are successful.)
And when I went to look up a link for the series, I found that it arrived on Amazon Prime today. Maybe it’s a sign that I should rewatch it….
Too many ideas
I’ve decided that the reason I’ve been having such trouble with the 20th CONFESSIONS OF A SLIGHTLY NEUROTIC HITWOMAN story is that I had too many fun ideas I wanted to cram into it. Unfortunately that meant I wasn’t giving any of them their due, so I’ve been on a slash-and-burn kick to pare things down to what is truly essential to the story.
Constraints don’t necessarily hinder creativity, they often enhance it. (at least for me)
Now it feels like I can finally move forward.
Oh and if you’ve been following along, here’s Day 4 of my #100HappyDays Challenge. Little gifts I received from two friends.
Coffee and writing
I’m writing and rewriting and rewriting and rewriting and rewriting and rewriting a pivotal scene in the 20th story in the CONFESSIONS OF A SLIGHTLY NEUROTIC HITWOMAN series and I just cannot get it right.
The fact that I’m drinking too much coffee probably isn’t helping my writing process as much as I’d like to believe.
On the positive side, here’s Day 3 of my 100 Happy Days challenge….a friend just sent me the cutest socks. Obviously she knows me well, lol.
Author Jennifer Hillier
I had the pleasure of having brunch with my writer pal, Jennifer Hillier today.
Jenny and I got to talk about writing, life and, of course, murder.
Day 2 of 100 of my 100 Happy Days Challenge!
Check out the cover of Jenny’s latest release!
100 Happy Days — Day 1
Ugh, I know, I’m terrible about blogging. Sorry!!!!
I decided to take on the 100 Happy Days Challenge, where I’ll try to share something that makes me happy every day.
Here’s DAY 1 of 100
Hiking through a nature preserve…despite the fact my shoes ended up covered in muck.
Spending time in nature helps to recharge my creative juices. (Coffee does this too, but fresh air does it without the jitters.)
Something else that’s making me happy is the work I’m doing on my secret PCM project. I’d been stuck on it for quite a while, but now I’m busy writing it.
When you type a lot
After a long writing session my hands hurt so I like to indulge in a little self care.
I love the feel of this and it smells like marzipan…but doesn’t have the Valentine’s Day candy calories. 🙂
Do you have a self care treat you love?
In Florida you can't have too many hats
These are two of my favorites.
I added the badass pins, lol.
Do you like hats? Do you have a favorite?
Meditation and Crystals
Last year with the help of the INSIGHT TIMER app, I implemented a DAILY meditation practice. (This was a big deal for me since I’d had trouble sticking with this goal in the past.)
I really love to meditate while holding these two crystals which were gifts from a good friend.
Angelite and Rose Quartz
Do you meditate? Are you into crystals?
Worst Case Scenario
This week I’m reading The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook.
Why? Because it’s full of useful information God can share with Maggie.
Important things like How to Jump Into A Dumpster from a Building and How To Treat a Bullet or Knife Wound.
Or most importantly How to Escape from Quicksand!!!!!!
(When I was a kid I was TERRIFIED of quicksand….not that I’ve ever encountered it, but still…..”the more you know”)
