If you’ve read the Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman series, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that I have a lot of fun while writing scenes with Maggie and her menagerie.
Today I wrote a great animal scene in the four pages I managed to get down. Can’t wait for you to read it!
The last line I wrote today was: “Yeah,” Darlene agreed. “But sometimes I wonder if that’s enough to offset the insanity.”
My dog (my real life pet, not an imaginary pal) provided some inspiration yesterday when she managed to steal a tea light out of a long-stemmed holder without knocking it over. She’s obviously way stealthier than my beloved DeeDee will ever be.

I’m pretty sure that a pet will figure prominently in the new PCM series too. When I finish doing all the character development work for the three sisters, I’ll turn my attention to “Bug”.
Speaking of PCM, I spent significant time working on Lily, Rose and Daisy. “Working on” basically means I ask myself a question, stare into space for an inordinately long period of time, and then jot down a sentence or paragraph. I repeat this process for a couple of hours…or until my butt grows numb from sitting in the chair for too long.
I’ve got 11 handwritten pages done in two days. I’m feeling good about the process AND the progress of this project right now. In another 48 hours I may feel like a total failure, but for now, I’m stoked about how it’s coming together.  🙂
